Coppell Mayor, City Council & LISD Trustee Election

Well, the results are in from the May 12th election.  A total of 18 people from Coppell Greens
bothered to vote out of a total of 377 registered voters.  That is 4.8% as compared to
the overall 11.8% turnout.  This is very disappointing, especially after having sent out several
e-mails and provided lots of information on this web site regarding the candidates.

-------------------------------------------------

The following Coppell Greens Q&A was sent to all of the candidates.
Here are the responses from the candidates that we have received so far.

New HOA Policies

The Texas Legislature enacted new laws that impact HOA & Condominium

Communities.  In conformance with the new laws, your Board
has adopted new policies which you can view by clicking the following link.  NewHOApolicies-signed.pdf  Unlike amendments to our Bylaws which require 70% approval by homeowners, the policies were mandated by the State.  The new policies comply directly with the new legislation and augment our existing Bylaws which are posted on this web site on the Public Documents page.

Block Party Challenge

The Coppell Greens Social Committee has devised another fun way to get to know your neighbors:

Resident supported block parties! The rules are simple: you must organize a block party for your

street and have at least half of the residents in attendance. How you organize the party is completely

up to you...make it a potluck or you provide the pizzas and everyone else bring sides, desserts, or

drinks.... You take pictures documenting the block party and how many were in attendance and you

will receive a $100 gift card to Wal-Mart for organizing the event. One of the best security measures

is getting to know your neighbors, knowing their vehicles, getting their phone numbers and being

able to communicate with one another if there is a break-in or fire on your street. We are currently

having the perfect weather to enjoy an old-fashioned block party--so start organizing yours today!
